Woman killed in Colorado Springs rollover crash

The driver who was freed after being trapped under a vehicle during a rollover crash on Monday afternoon succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital, according to a blotter entry by Colorado Springs police.

Police responded to the intersection of North Carefree Circle and Inspiration Drive, west of Powers Boulevard, after numerous emergency calls indicated a driver was ejected and trapped.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to the entry.

The intersection was closed in all directions during the investigation and debris removal before reopening Monday evening.

Failure to abide by "traffic devices" is being considered as a factor in the crash, police told The Gazette.

The deceased driver did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, the entry stated. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were contributing factors in the crash.
