Lionel Messi provided an assist for fellow Argentine Rodrigo De Paul in the second half of Inter Miami's MLS Cup 2025 final against Vancouver Whitecaps at the Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday.
Messi picked midfielder Antonio Cubas' pocked in the 71st minute of the match with the scores level, and slipped through fellow World Cup winner De Paul. The Argentine duly converted the chance to give Inter Miami a 2-1 lead in the final.

Earlier in the evening, Edier Ocampo's own goal had given Inter Miami an early lead, before Ali Ahmed strike deflected off the post to level the scores for Vancouver Whitecaps.
