In 1775, 250 years ago, Paul Revere agreed to print currency for the Massachusetts colony. Also on this date, American rebel forces, laying siege to Quebec City, began bombarding the fort protecting the seat of government there. A disasterous attempt to storm the fort on Dec. 31 would end in the death of the soldiers' leader, General Richard Montgomery, and serious injuries to rebel Colonel Benedict Arnold.
