Sean Dyche and Nottingham Forest's stark reminder

If Nottingham Forest wanted a jolt of reality -- and they got one away to Everton.
The 3-0 defeat was dismal and the grey clouds that hung over the Mersey at the picturesque Hill Dickinson stadium were reflective of the mood among those who had made the journey from the East Midlands.
Spirits should have been high in the Forest camp, following a week that had seen the club reveal the first images of the latest plans for the redevelopment of their home on Thursday, after claiming a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, the day before.
But the performance against David Moyes' team underlined, in the thickest of ink, that there is still work to do to ensure that the City Ground continues to host Premier League football, whenever the redevelopment starts.
Forest's initial blueprints paint a picture of a stadium that is fit for the European stage. Eventually, they hope it will hold 52,000 seats, which will help to satiate the demand of 17,500 people on the season-ticket waiting list.
It is potentially a transformative project for Forest and the city -- one that should equip the club with the ability to drastically boost their revenue streams and ability to compete. More than that, it will ensure fans still have a home on the banks of the Trent that they can be proud of.
But an ugly performance followed the pretty pictures, easily the worst of Sean Dyche's 10-match tenure, that went wrong as soon as Nikola Milenkovic headed into his own net after 83 seconds.
As he prepares his side for a Europa League game in Utrecht on Thursday, Dyche must have more than an eye on next Sunday and the visit of Tottenham Hotspur in the league.
This should have been a season of positivity. It was definitely one that began with hope, as Nuno Espirito Santo looked to build on the seventh-placed finish of last season, while leading Forest back into Europe for the first time in three decades.
But, while a run of four wins from five games inspired a sense of optimism, thi
