Murfreesboro (Tennessee) Oakland is familiar with playing for a state title.

The Patriots are making their sixth straight appearance in the Tennessee Secondary School Activities Association's BlueCross Bowl. They are also seeking to repeat as state champions on Saturday night when Oakland takes on Ravenwood for the Class 6A title in Chattanooga.

Oakland has won eight championships in program history, with five of those coming since 2018. The Patriots come in with a perfect 14-0 record, having defeated Blackman 42-14 in last week's semifinal round.

Ravenwood, which is based in Brentwood, is making its first appearance in the BlueCross Bowl since 2019. The Raptors are also seeking their third state title in program history, the last coming exactly 10 years ago.

Like Oakland, Ravenwood also brings a 14-0 record into the BlueCross Bowl. The Raptors have survived their last two playoff tests, beating Whitehaven 20-12 in the quarterfinals and then edging Southward, 28-25, in last week's semifinal round.
