Mashemeji Derby: Gor Mahia Midfielder Identifies Key Strengths That Will Floor AFC Leopards

Gor Mahia midfielder Enock Morrison has highlighted two areas of strength that he feels will lift K'Ogalo to victory over bitter rivals AFC Leopards.
Ahead of the highly awaited Mashemeji Derby between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards, midfielder Enock Morrison is backing his team to win because of two main strengths.
Gor Mahia will host Leopards in the 98th Mashemeji Derby at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday and will be looking to assert their dominance over the fixture while seeking to bounce back from their shock 4-1 loss to APs Bomet last week.
Leopards similarly have not won any of their last three matches but on derby day, form counts for nothing and Morrison knows this too well.

"Even in the bus, we see a lot of our players happy and dancing. This game comes with a lot of pressure but when you see players showing they are living normally is very good," Morrison said regarding how Gor Mahia are dealing with the derby pressure.
"It is good motivation for the players because as for me, if you go into this game with tense and fear and panic, it is not going to work for you. I am happy seeing my colleagues happy and as you can see, we are here, playing some fun games and even though the game is big, we are having fun and ready for it."
The Ghanaian midfielder therefore feels the game will be decided not just by how tactically both teams set up but also with having experienced heads and here, he believes Gor Mahia have the edge as they possess a number of players who have been at the club for long and played in many derbies.
"I have played in a couple of derbies, even last season I was here and have had a feel of the derby and I am very okay," he added.
"For the new players that are coming to play their first one, I think the old and experienced ones like [Ernest] Wendo, Philemon [Otieno] are trying to make sure that we have good feelings and everything to make sure that we can win the game."
