Kerry residential care service receives positive HIQA report | RadioKerry.ie

A residential care service in Kerry has received a positive report from the health watchdog.
Tigh an Oileain was inspected across ten areas of the Health Act 2007 during an unannounced inspection on July 17th.
The facility, which is operated by Kerry Parents and Friends Association was found to be fully compliant in six categories, including record keeping, health care and protection.
HIQA found the service to be substantially compliant in four areas - staffing, governance and management, fire precautions and residents' rights.
The centre provides provide full time residential care for a maximum of five male residents over the age of 18 with intellectual disabilities, all of whom were present on the day of inspection.
Inspectors observed that residents were receiving a good quality person-centred service and were happy in their home.
The centre was praised by inspectors for good practices, including an overnight trip for the residents and participation in the St Patricks' Day parade.
Overall it was found that residents were being afforded good quality services that met their assessed needs.
